ClassNK tops 220m GT

The announcement was made following the November meeting of the ClassNK Classification Committee, which certified the ClassNK register listed 8,511 vessels totalling 220,212,135 gross tonnes.

More than 10m gross tonnes have been added to the ClassNK register over the past 12 months alone.

ClassNK said that vessels transferring from other class societies accounted for more than 30% of the new additions to the register.

This was driven by transfers from Greek, Turkish, Norwegian and German owners – 50% of all tonnage transferred to the ClassNK Register so far this year.
