More new orders for Marin Teknikk
The diving construction vessel will be built by China Merchants Industry Holdings Ltd and operated by Thailand’s Mermaid Offshore Services Company Ltd.
It will be of the MT6024 DSCV design with a length of 120m and a breadth of 25m and equipped with an 18 men double diving bell saturation system for operations down to 300m.
“Marin Teknikk has signed several new contracts recently and this contract will be a solid contribution to ensure amount of work in the coming months. This project will be the sixth large dive construction vessel of the well proven MT design,” said Richard Gjerde, of Marin Teknikk.
Perks of the design include reduced fuel consumption together with the latest environmentally diesel electric technology with reduced exhaust emissions, and large cargo capacity on deck and below.
It should be ready by the third quarter of 2016.The contract includes an option for another vessel.
MT has also secured a contract with China’s Yantai Raffles Offshore Limited (CIMC Raffles), for design of a large well intervention vessel to Norshore, in Norway.
The vessel will be of the MT6028 design with a complete installation of oil well drilling equipment. It will have a length of 156mand a breadth of 28m, accommodation for 110 persons, a lift capacity for more than 600 tonnes plus arrangement of two ROVs for operations down to 3000m.
This vessel should be ready for delivery in the fourth quarter of 2016.
