Promar expands offshore fleet

The Damen PSV 3300 vessels, which are designed to ensure reliability and good seakeeping behaviour to reduce downtime, will be tailored for Promar. Several specifications will be added including Fire-Fighting Ship 1, ROV preparations, oil spill detection radar and a tank heating system.

Olivier Meynis de Paulin, chartering supervisor, Promar, said: “The PSV 3300 is at the forefront of technology in terms of equipment, being modern and reliable. These ships are built in line with North Sea standards. Damen is a prominent player in the shipbuilding industry with a reputation for delivering high quality, reliable, cost-effective vessels.”

Promar says it expects to employ the two vessels in the West African market, which is where the company has been chartering since it was established in 2002.

“Bringing the standards of the PSV 3300 to African countries will certainly be a valuable competitive edge. In addition, the design and the level of comfort proposed by these vessels are definitely an important advantage,” added Mr Meynis de Paulin.

The company currently has a fleet of multi-purpose supply vessels (MPSVs) and fast crew boats under management, which serve the global offshore marine industry.

The first vessel will be delivered in February 2015 and the second in August 2015.
