Sulphur emissions guidelines released
Limitations on SOx emissions are currently in place with more stringent regulations coming in the near future, making it harder for the industry to comply.
The new report, Marine Vessel Environmental Performance (MVEP) Assessment Guide Air Emissions: Sulphur Oxides (SOx), has been designed to help with SOx management and reduction on ocean-going vessels.
It provides options for assessment emissions performance along with a standard methodology for determining SOx output from a vessel.
The 495-page report has been published electronically and has been reviewed by the SNAME Technical & Research Panel EC-10 and approved by the Society’s Environmental Engineering Committee.
The report can be ordered online.
