Australian owner orders two Vard PSVs

The 4,000dwt multi-functional platform supply vessels are to be built at the Vard Vung Tau shipyard in Vietnam, with completion planned for the fourth quarter of 2015 and the first quarter of 2016 respectively. They will be of 81.7m length oa, 18m beam, and have a cargo deck area of 810m². They are to be prepared for standby, rescue, firefighting and ROV operations, and are designed with a focus on cargo capacity and manoeuvrability combined with low fuel consumption.
