NES supplies more diesel-electric power for Gulf Offshore

NES says this will be the third diesel electric system it has supplied for Gulf Offshore vessels, being a repeat of two sister ships – hull 130

The new ship, to Skipsteknisk design ST-216L CD, will operate in the Northern area under harsh weather conditions with a Norwegian crew. Expected commissioning of the vessel will be end November 2015.

The scope of supply from NES includes three 3,122kVA main generators, two 2,600kW electric propulsion motors, electric motors for three thrusters, Quadro Dive frequency converters for each motor, frequency converters for cargo pumps, main switchboards, transformers and BOSS black-out safety system, plus engineering, project management, commissioning and sea trials.
