Vard to build new OCV for Rem Offshore

A Vard 2.06 OCV has been ordered by Rem Offshore

Under the terms of the contract, valued at around NOK 800 million, the ship is scheduled to be delivered from Vard Brattvaag in Norway in the first three months of 2016. The hull of the vessel will be built at Vard Tulcea in Romania.

The new vessel is designed to perform advanced operations with the use of A-frame and winch system in parallel with an AHC offshore crane with more than 3,000m range on the main hook. The crane will have a capacity of 150t. With a bollard pull of about 400t, the ship will be capable of operations in deep water. It will have accommodation for 90 persons including several offices and work stations.

With ICE 1-B and winterisation notations, the 4,400dwt vessel will be outfitted with a launch and recovery system for a ROV installation.
