In petro Veritas…
DNV announced a year ago that its fuel testing and management subsidiary would remain independent following the merger of GL and DNV. This is now reality, though Veritas Petroleum Services (VPS) continues to have close links with the new classification society.
“Today marks an important milestone for us because our new brand identity completes our independence, legally as well as visually. Our new, signature teal blue, which is a blend of our maritime heritage colours of dark blue and green, embodies our organisation’s DNA of intrinsic quality, integrity and reliability. The tint of fresh orange glow, on the other hand, symbolises our bright future as a vibrant, young company ready to be the bridge to deep knowledge and exceptional service for our clients,” said Eirik Andreassen, CEO of VPS.
VPS says it recognises the challenge for today’s maritime industry in making decisions which optimise operations in the short term, without restricting the opportunity to sustain margin in the long term, regardless of the future landscape.
“Against this backdrop of an ever changing landscape, businesses today face mounting technological, financial, operational and regulatory challenges and risks,” said Bill Stamatopoulos, group commercial director, VPS. “Hence, we will continue to leverage our deep technical expertise and market-leading insights, and invest in innovative technology to help clients navigate the increasingly complex world of fuels so that they can focus on their core business.”
As DNVPS, VPS introduced the first commercial bunker fuel testing programme for ships in 1981, and now claims market leadership in the field. It says it will delve deeper into fuel related issues onboard ships and increase the number of joint industry projects that it runs with its partners.
