Danelec has sold a number of VDRs to China for offshore newbuilds

The orders were secured by Danelec’s distributor Xiamen Huayi for the new ships currently under construction at a shipyard in Fujian province.

“Our success in the China shipbuilding market is attributable to the efforts of our hard-working distribution partners like Xiamen Huayi,” said Hans Ottosen, CEO, Danelec Marine.

Danelec Marine has seen a surge of business from Chinese shipyards, having booked 48 additional orders for its next-generation VDRs from nine different Chinese shipyards last month.

In order to support its growing business activities in China, the company recently opened an office in Shanghai.

“We are taking steps to beef up our sales and service support for our Chinese distributors through our new office in Shanghai. We have also established Certified Service Centers in China to ensure ready availability of products and spares,” Mr Ottosen said.

Danelec said that its DM100 VDR is the only VDR to be type approved and wheelmarked to meet all the technical requirements contained in the new IMO standard, which came into force 1 July.
