Foreship says its new BlueTech 42 design is eco-friendly and has a number of benefits

The vessels will be of BlueTech 42 design – a novel, eco-friendly handy size bulk carrier. Foreship says the main benefits of the design include a larger hold volume – around 15% bigger – and 5-9% larger deadweight compared to the main competitors.

Foreship’s new design also means consumption/hold volume and consumption/ dwt are the lowest in the class and, according to HSVA data, it has the lowest resistance through the whole speed range, producing more benefits during slow steaming.

Navibulgar’s vessels will measure 185m, have a dwt of 42,300 and a service speed of 14 knots. They will be of ice class and will be powered by MAN 5G50 B9.5 TII engines.

The contract also includes options for two more vessels.

Navibulgar is Bulgaria’s leading ship owners, currently operating a fleet of almost 30 vessel including 23 handymax bulkers, three railway ferries and three port tugs.
