GreenSteam optimisation at SMM

The GreenSteam optimiser is an on-board support system which helps the master to continually make decisions in terms of trim and draft of the vessel in order to operate at the most efficient speed using as little fuel as possible.

Compact and simple to use, the optimiser can be retrofitted to vessels requiring no major modification of the ship. GreenSteam said that installation should take less than a day if cabling has been prepared beforehand.

The system consists of two small GreenSteam radars installed in the bridge wings and a touch screen console which connects wind and flow meter sensors to the trim and radars.

Data collected can be made available to users in a variety of different ways allowing an operator to carry out a high quality analysis of the vessel.
