SSI has released the latest version of its ShipConstructor CAD/CAM software

ShipConstructor 2015 has added a number of catalogue features to the previous version, which are intended to help users model components to the correct specifications, increasing productivity and quality. According to SSI, this has previously been of significant concern to both of management and production employees. Thee catalogue additions and changes are in standard XML templates and include: pipe catalogue ASME carbon steel; imperial weld standards; and metric weld standards.

The new catalogue for ASME carbon steel pipe covers the standardisation of dimensions of welded and seamless wrought steel pipe for high and low temperatures and pressures, and contains a range of schedule 40/80 carbon steel pipes and fittings from various ASME standards, as well as a set of end treatments including flanges and couplings from Class 150 and 300.

ShipConstructor 2015 integrates with SSI’s new EnterprisePlatform line of products. This platform enables engineering information from a data model such as the ShipConstructor Marine Information Model (MIM), to be shared with, and accessed by, multiple individuals, software applications and production equipment used in the shipbuilding process. The first product on the new platform, PublisherLT, is being released at the same time as ShipConstructor 2015.

ShipConstructor 2015 features new software-based licensing technology, offering faster turnaround time for replacement of corrupted files, improved encryption and piracy protection, support for roaming licences, server redundancy and check-In and check-out of licences.
