MOL plans for the future with merger

At the same time, MOLMC announced an upgrade of one of its two bridge simulators. The simulator was upgraded with an enlarged screen that replicates the field of vision from the bridge as well as the addition of a Dynamic Positioning System (DPS).

MOL has positioned the offshore business at the core of its operations in a bid to achieve “solid growth through innovative changes”, as set out in its midterm management plan ‘STEER FOR 2020’.

Fields such as floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) and floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) operation require ship-handling technologies that reply on DPS. The new company, MOL Marine Co Ltd, says the upgraded simulator will help improve training in those fields.
