Nordic Yards plans to build yard in Brazil

The new yard is planned to be built in the province of Camocin in the north of Brazil and will focus on the building of offshore support vessels.

According to an official spokesperson of Nordic Yards, which is owned by Russian businessman Vitaly Yusufov, huge state support is available for projects in this rapidly developing region of Brazil. The authorities of Camocin province have already promised investors that the necessary benefits for the project will be provided.

Planned production volumes of the new shipyard are not yet disclosed. Local analysts believe there will be strong local demand for the yard’s future production, mainly due to Brazil’s plans to become one of the largest oil and gas producers.

At present Brazil produces about 113 million tonnes of oil and 32 billion m³ of gas per year, the majority of which is produced on the shelf, which means that the demand for vessels from local and foreign companies, operating on the Brazilian shelf, will continue to grow.
