Importer

Two of the orders were from Qingshan Shipyard of China Changjian National Shipping and two were from Fujian Mawei Shipbuilding Ltd. Two more engine options are under negotiation for each ship owner.

These engines will be installed to 7499DWT asphalt vessels owned by Shum Yuen Group (Hong Kong) Limited. The first vessel is expected to go into operation in October 2016.

MHI’s UEC33LSE engine, which meets future Tier regulation, is optimised for a wide range of vessel types less than 30,000DWT, including bulk carriers, chemical tankers, cement vessels, domestic ferries and small size container vessels.

The first UEC33LSE was manufactured by Akasaka Diesels Limited and installed to 11,500DWT chemical tanker built by Kitanihon Shipbuilding Co Ltd in November 2014.
