New names and logos on a group and brand level

The company (formerly known as Imtech Marine) revealed its new name at Europort in Rotterdam, drawing associations with its long-established Radio Holland brand and shedding that of bankrupt former parent company Royal Imtech.

The re-emergence of the familiar and respected Radio Holland name, and its use as an umbrella for RH Marine Group brands, reflects a positive fresh start for the company, group CEO René ten Brinke told The Motorship. “Under Royal Imtech the marine group was already profitable, but everything was focussed on that one brand – the individual competencies and brand names of our fleet of ten brands was not known.”

The new name and ownership puts the focus back on those brands – among them navigation specialist Radio Holland, automation and control company Elkon and data and asset management firm Royal Dirkzwager. Each will have managerial accountability and responsibility. “This will also make them more agile,” Brinke explained.

The new owners will also pour investment into new technology development. Among the fields to be developed will be RH Marine Group’s hybrid propulsion system – currently employed on two CMAL ferries, with a third close to delivery. Advances in unmanned inspection vehicles and digitisation would also be key priorities, Brinke said, with a detailed product development roadmap being planned.
