License agreement renewal for Mitsubishi UE Engine

The agreement for the two-stroke low speed diesel engine will aim to enhance sales, promotions and expand market share.

Kobe Diesel first made a license agreement with Mitsubishi to build its engines in 1957, with Akaska following three years later.

Through MHI-MME’s launch in October 2013 as an individual part of Mitsubishi dedicated to marine machinery and marine diesel engine business, new engines were released, including LSE and LSH series of the UE Engine.

These are at the forefront of the license agreement along with the latest technology such as low pressure EGR systems and low pressure SCR systems to comply with IMO NOx Tier III regulation.

Since the renewal of the license there have been 17 orders for the UEC50LSH-Eco-C2 have been placed with Kobe Diesel and 13 UEC33LSE-C2 / 35LSE-Eco-B2 for Akasaka.
