55-ship deal for loading computer

Napa says that the system will provide ‘real time’ onboard loading calculations and ship stability analysis, with regard to longitudinal strength and operational efficiency. The software will be installed on 20 Bourbon Explorer 500 series vessels, 15 Bourbon Liberty 150 series vessels and 20 Bourbon Liberty 300 series vessels built by Sinopacific Zhejiang Shipbuilding. Five of the Bourbon Liberty 300 vessels have already been delivered.

The company says that the loading computer has been approved by the major classification societies. It uses a 3D calculation engine based on ship design mathematics to incorporate a range of calculations related to the ship’s hydrostatics.
