ABB wins multi contracts

ABB has won contracts worth $140 million to supply its Azipod propulsion systems for three vessels and electrical power systems for 11 new marine vessels and for two semi-submersible drilling rigs.

The order includes six 10MW Azipod propulsion units for three Arctic shuttle tankers being built for Russia’s Sococomflot at Samsung Heavy Industries and for one drilling vessel for Norway’s Mosvold Drilling, also to be built at Samsung.

Moreover, the Swedish-Swiss engineering group will supply electrical power systems for two semi-submersible drilling rigs for SeaDrill Ltd and for another three vessels to be built at Aker Langsten shipyard in Norway.
