Aegean orders bunker tankers

Aegean Marine Petroleum in Greece signed a newbuilding contract for seven double hull bunkering tankers of 6200 dwt, with Qingdao Hyundai Shipbuilding Co. Ltd. in China. The shipyard is majority owned by Korea?s HHI.

The newbuildings will be classed by DNV and, upon completion, will receive the class notation +1A1 Tanker for Oil, ESP, ECO, Tmon. These vessels together with the previously ordered bunker tankers will bring the total fleet of Aegean to 40 double hull bunkering tankers.
