Aker says no to the Lenin shipyard
Kjell Inge Rokke-controlled Aker Yards has decided that the group will not make a bid for the former Lenin Shipyard in Gdansk, but will continue its cooperation with the Polish yard.
The Polish yard is to be sold, but Aker Yards will not be making a final bid, according to Norwegian news sources. Polish newspapers had reported last autumn that Aker Yard had made a bid. However, Aker will maintain its cooperation with the Polish yard, which has been building steel sections for the Aker?s shipbuilding facilities in Finland.
