Alfa Laval wins PureDry order

Alfa Laval’s PureDry system recovers all reusable fuel from a vessel’s waste fuel oil. It has been designed to combine separation technologies with a new type of high-speed centrifugal separator and a solid bowl with self-cleaning technology.

Lars Renström, president and CEO, Alfa Laval, said: “This is indeed a very significant order for our unique Alfa Laval PureDry system that is reaching wide acceptance among shipowners. The order confirms a clear confidence in this energy-saving product.”

The company says a typical large ship that burns 100 tonnes of oil per day could save around SEK 3m (US$460,091) a year by installing the fully automated, modular PureDry system onboard.

Delivery is scheduled for 2014 and 2015.
