Allweiler provide ABG with pump package

The order is estimated to be worth between $1.7 and 2 million. The complete ship-sets, consisting of a comprehensive range of screw, centrifugal and progressing cavity pumps numbering over 350 in total, will be installed in a series of 35,000 dwt bulk carriers built at ABG for Germany’s Hamburg-based H. Vogemann Group.

According to Allweiler, the contract was awarded not only on price, but on technology and the company’s position as a one-stop shop for total pump delivery and accessory supply. Allweiler believes it is probably the only global pump OEM able to deliver the complete range of pump packages and take responsibility for total turnkey operations.

We have supplied top quality pumps for a wide variety of ship applications to leading shipyards including Cochin, Colombo, Bharati and Tebma,” said Geir Olimb, director of sales, confirming that Allweiler’s Indian partner played a strong role in winning the order by acting as a competent local contact for the customer.
