…and Aida turns to Aker

As anticipated, Aida Cruises, in which P&O Cruises now has a 51 per cent stake, has agreed an order with Aker MTW in Germany for cruise ship newbuildings in the form of a pair of 1,600-passenger, 200m long vessels.

The German newbuildings are due to be delivered in the first quarter of 2002 and the first quarter of 2003, respectively, providing much need work for the Aker MTW yard.
