The ?Costa Pacifica?, the fourteenth ship in the fleet of Costa Cruises was delivered on May 29 at the Genova-Sestri Ponente shipyard by Fincantieri. The sister ship of the ?Costa Concordia? and of the ?Costa Serena?, the ?Costa Pacifica? is the “ship of music”. Weighing in at 114,500 GT, she can accommodate a total of 3,780 guests in 1,504 cabins.

The ?Costa Pacifica? is the second of three new Costa ships to be delivered by Fincantieri to the Italian company in less than one year. The ?Costa Luminosa? (92,600 GT and a capacity of 2,826 passengers), the “ship of light”, was delivered on April 30, while the ?Costa Deliziosa?, the sister ship of the ?Costa Luminosa?, also under construction at Fincantieri?s Marghera shipyard, will be delivered at the end of January 2010.

Two other sister ships of the ?Costa Pacifica? will be delivered in 2011 and 2012.

The ?Costa Pacifica?s? eight-day maiden voyage in the western Mediterranean will depart from Savona on 6 June, including a special two-day layover in Palma de Mallorca.
