Another drillship order for DSME

South Korea’s Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering Co. (DSME) secured a drillship order from an undisclosed client based in the Americas. The drillship, valued at a reported KRW766 billion ($754.7 million), is scheduled for delivery by mid-2011.

The unidentified client is believed to be Rio de Janeiro-based Petroserve SA which earlier won a long-term charter from Petrobras for a drillship to be deployed offshore Brazil from mid-2012. The Brazilian rig contractor cuurently has two semisubmersibles under construction at DSME.
