APT builds third Europe river cruise ship

Australian Pacific Touring (APT) has announced the building of a third European River Cruise Ship. The new 150 passenger ?Amacello?, expected to be ready for 2008, will be a sister ship to the ?Amadagio?, launched in 2006, and the ?Amalegro? which will be launched in March this year.

Construction of the 120 metre vessel will be achieved with help from partner Amadeus Waterways. Geoff McGeary, a member of the McGeary family, who owns the company and engineered the luxury European river cruising product for Australians eight years ago said, “The concept was an instant success.”

He continued saying, “We decided to invest in our own vessels and so guarantee consistently high standards of luxury and service for our discerning customers while offering more tour options. We?re not reliant on third party cruise operators.”

The ships that are currently in the fleet pride themselves on offering more space than any other cruise ship in Europe, complimentary bicycles on board for explorations on shore, 82% of Staterooms feature floor-to-ceiling sliding glass doors with French Balconies, as well as lounges, bars and a fitness centre.
