Austal wins NSW police contract

Following a detailed review and tender process, Austal has been has been awarded a contract for the design, construction and supply of six 16 metre aluminium monohull vessels for the Water Police in the Australian state of New South Wales.

This order will add to the previous Austal delivery of two 22 metre and seven 16 metre patrol boats delivered in 2000. As with the previous vessels this order will be built over a period of approximately 10 months. With 48 Austal defence vessels, ranging from 16 to 101 metres, either delivered or under construction, Austal Chairman, John Rothwell commented “The confirmation of this order is a further demonstration of Austal?s strong focus on this exciting market segment and our growing reputation as an internationally recognised supplier of navy and patrol vessels”.
