BAE hands over Bulwark
BAE?s Barrow shipyard will officially hand over HMS Bulwark to the Royal Navy in a ceremony later today. The ship has taken six years to build at a cost of around £350m and it is feared it could be the last surface vessel to be built at the BAE Systems yard in the town.
The company has transferred shipbuilding away from the yard and is concentrating work at the site on the manufacture of submarines.
