Bergen benefits from offshore contracts

Three ocean-going tugs to the UT 515 CD design have been ordered for delivery starting late in 2011. Each vessel will measure 86m in length with a beam of 17.5m and will be delivered with a fully-integrated Rolls-Royce equipment system, including two Bergen engines of an as-yet undisclosed rating, propulsion systems, rudders, deck machinery, thrusters, automation and control systems and DP equipment. Included in the contract is an extensive customer training programme to be delivered at the new Rolls-Royce training centre in Aalesund, Norway.

Rolls-Royce is additionally supplying an integrated equipment system for a UT 755 L3X PSV to be built at Caspian Energy Projects LLC shipyard in Russia. This contract includes an option for an additional vessel. The propulsion package includes two Bergen C-type medium speed engines, each rated at 5,300kW.

A further contract from Italian shipyard Rosetti Marino for a UT 712 CD AHTS vessel includes an integrated Rolls-Royce equipment system, including propulsion systems, rudders, deck machinery, thrusters, automation and control systems. The engines for this ship will come from another supplier.
