Bergen Engines merged into Tognum group

Former Rolls-Royce subsidiary, Bergen Engines, produces medium speed units for marine and power generation applications. So the move will add medium speed diesel and gas engines of up to 10MW to Tognum’s portfolio.

Dr Ulrich Dohle, who takes over as CEO at Tognum AG from 1 July, said: “The integration of Bergen Engines is a further step in Tognum’s growth strategy and in leveraging synergies.”

Tognum says that the combined product portfolio should support “dynamically growing emerging markets.”

Tognum currently supplies supplies high speed MTU diesel and gas engines with power ranges of of 75 to 10,000kW and 100 to 2,150kW respectively.

Back in October 2011, Tognum AG was acquired by Rolls-Royce and Daimler.
