Better news at Floro

Following the two-ship order placed at Kvaerner Floro by Odfjell in June, the Norwegian yard, which is part of the stricken Kvaerner Group, has received more much-needed good news. Navale Francaise has ordered a 6,500 dwt stainless steel chemical tanker at the yard. The order, which is valued in the region of NOK 180 million ($22.82 million), calls for delivery in November next year.

Kvaerner Floro’s president, Bjorn Lillelien comments: “This is a different size of chemical tanker compared with the vessels we have built in recent years, and as such, a challenge for the yard. However, having worked with the project over a long period of time we are well prepared to carry it out successfully.”
