Bharati bags GE Shipping order

Bharati Shipyard, Mumbai, one of leading private owned shipyards in India, received a repeat order for two 80 tonne bollard pull anchor handling tug supply vessels (AHTS) from the Great Eastern Shipping Company(GE Shipping).

Last year, GE Shipping had placed orders for two 120 tonne and two 80 tonne AHTSs with Bharati, the first of which is scheduled for delivery early next year.

The newbuildings are designed for various offshore duties including AHTS to offshore installations, will be fitted with state-of-the-art control systems and will be classed by ABS and Indian Register of Shipping.

Bharati Shipyard currently has 13 tugs and offshore vessels, valued at $95 million, on its order book out of which 3 vessels are scheduled for delivery in September / October 2004.
