Bharati wins new order

Bharati Shipyard received an $89 million order from Shippping Corporation of India for the construction of four AHTS vessels for delivery in 2011. Including the latest order, the shipbuilder has now announced orders worth approx $408 million over the last six months, primarily for offshore supply vessels, reiterating Bharati’s strong global presence in this market which now accounts for over 60% of the company’s current order book.

The company’s Mangalore expansion remains largely on track with the project likely to be commissioned this quarter. Following the acquisition of Swan Hunter’s equipment in April, the company is further exploring options to increase the Mangalore facility capacity to build larger vessels of up to 100,000 DWT.
