Brazilian rope factory acquired by Dutch company
The ropes will be used in oil and gas production as well as ropes for supply to the local ship market, for use on tugs, tankers and other vessel types. The company says it will consider producing other products from its portfolio in Brazil at a later date.
The new acquisition has been made possible through a $75 million contract with Petrobras for the supply of about 11,000t of deep-water mooring rope.
