Brunei expands LNG fleet
Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering (DSME) has won a 465.3 billion won ($492.5 million) order to build two LNG carriers for the state-run gas carrier of Brunei.
The contract also has an option for Daewoo to sell an additional two ships to Brunei Gas Carriers Sendirian Berhad. DSME, which accounts for 32% of the LNG shipbuilding market, will deliver the two vessels by the end of July 2011.
The world’s biggest LNG ship builder now plans to step up sales in the Pacific region countries which produce natural gas.
