Brunvoll to propel new fishing vessel

Developed in partnership with Sirius Design & Integration, the 50m vessel is based on the Aurora series and is designed to operate in shallow waters with strong currents.

“We chose Brunvoll for this vessel because they have proven their ability to deliver top-of-the-range products along with a large global service network,” said Arild Aasmyr, chief executive at FSV Group.

“This is a new market for us, and we will also be operating the vessel globally.”

The vessel will be fitted with a twin-screw configuration, featuring controllable pitch shaft lines propellers and reduction gears with electrical motors for propulsion. It will also feature two tunnel thrusters, one forward and one aft, for manoeuvring.

FSV Group is a Norwegian service provider mainly within the aquaculture industry and operates a large fleet of multifunctional vessels, including vessels for towing, ROV inspection and salmon lice. FSV Group is based in Molde where Brunvoll is headquartered.

“An added bonus for us is that Brunvoll develops and produces these world-class products in our neighbourhood,” added Arild Aasmyr.
