BSL signs contract with GOL

Bharati Shipyard Limited (BSL), one of the leading private sector shipyards in India, has signed a contract with Great Offshore Ltd (GOL) for construction and supply of a multipurpose offshore support vessel at a price of $64.80 million.

The vessel will have a 10,500 kW diesel electric propulsion system with 5 generators providing the necessary power to drive two azimuthing thrusters of 6,600 KW and two retractable thrusters of 3,000 KW. The newbuilding will have dynamic positioning system and integrated power management system with full redundancy for DP2 operation and will also be capable of supporting ROV/Diving/Sub sea operations

Other features include a 150 tonne lift capacity electro hydraulic knuckle boom crane which is active heave compensated and suitable for depths up to 3,000 m. Among other features, the vessel will be fitted with a helipad and a 300 tonne anchor handling cum towing winch. This is the first time that such a sophisticated and technologically advanced multipurpose OSV is being built in India.

In addition to the above order, BSL has also secured a contract worth $43.3 million from UP Offshore (Bahamas) for the construction of two Platform Supply Vessels.
