B+V`s high profile repairs

Repairs to the 15 x 6m hole in the port side of container vessel Ever Decent were carried out afloat at Blohm+Voss Repair. The yard also repaired a smaller penetration higher in the ship`s side and an 8m crack in the superstructure. A total of 40 tonnes of steel were required.

In the second half of September Blohm+Voss drydocked Sovereign Maersk, which at 346.98m loa and 104,696 dwt is one of the largest container ships in the world. B+V`s largest ?Elbe 17` drydock is 351m long, leaving little margin for error.
