Carnival exercises Spirit option

Carnival Corporation has taken up its option to have a third Spirit-class cruise liner built at Kvaerner Masa-Yards (KMY). The 84,000 gross, 2,100 passenger vessel will be constructed at the Helsinki New Shipyard, and will be delivered in the summer of 2002. The value of the contract is around FMk2 billion ($346.1 million). This vessel will follow sisterships Carnival Spirit and Carnival Pride, which will be delivered by KMY this year
