Cat 3500 DEP gensets assembled in Sao Paulo have been certified to contain sufficient local content to meet Brazilian regulations

Caterpillar had expanded operations in Brazil in 2011 to package marine and oil and gas products in its Piracicaba, Sao Paulo, Brazil facility. RBNA, a division of ANP, has now certified that the 3500C produced at Piracicaba include over 60% local content, thus complying with Brazilian regulations.

“As we continue to expand our marine and petroleum operations in Brazil, a central strategic goal we have is to maximise our local content,” said Gregg Macdonald, Brazil 3500 program manager. “Improving our customers’ operations is our top priority and we are pleased to offer high local content solutions that enable our customers to take advantage of business incentives.”

In many cases, the 3500 packages assembled in Piracicaba are said to offer sufficient local content to meet BNDES special financing requirements. All engine ratings are IMO II certified
