Jiangnan Shipyard in China nets another 16,400DWT chemical tanker from Stenersen in Norway and represents the ninth such order from this ship owner placed at this yard.

Dalian New Shipyard in China secured an order for four 4,250TEU container ships plus two plus two options from Rickmers in Germany. The yard also won a contract for nine 4,250TEU container ships from China Shipping Group and a 110,000DWT product carrier from Torm in Denmark.

CMA CGM will order two 4,200TEU container ships from Dalian Shipyard according to Jacques R. Saade, chairman of the executive board of CMA CGM, during his visit to the shipyard. He said that a letter of intent would be signed soon. The reason for placing the order in China would appear to be the relatively short delivery time compared with Korean shipbuilders which the ship owner has traditionally used in the past for its boxship newbuildings.
