Chouest expands into Brazil

Edison Chouest Offshore has expanded into the shipyard sector in Brazil with the inauguration, early in October, of Estaleiro Navship in Navegantes in the south of Brazil.

The yard will be capable of building and delivering four ships per year. The shipyards?s first vessel will be an 80 metre PSV called Navagantes Pride which it is delivering to Alfanave, the Brazilian subsidiary of Edison Chouest Offshore.

The yard has more than 19,000 square metres of covered areas and employs around 500 personnel. This is the first new Brazilian Shipyard funded by the Brazilian Merchant Marine Fund that specialises in offshore support vessels.
