CMG to build huge repair facility

China Merchant Group (CMG) has started the construction of a huge repair facility at Mahoudao, Shenzhen. The 63 hectare repair facility will be completed by 2006 at a cost of $278 million and will have two 300,000DWT dry docks and a 150,000DWT dry dock.

China is also building the largest ship repair facility in Southeast Asia at Liehengdao in Zhoushan. The facility, when completed in 2010, will have four dry docks.
