Contract for Bender

Navieras NPR of New Jersey has awarded a 76 day repair contract to Bender Shipbuilding & Repair Co for the drydocking, modification and repair of the S/S Guayama, a 213.36m roro serving the US east coast and Puerto Rico.

The vessel arrived at Bender`s yard in Mobile, Alabama on August 18 for structural repair and modifications, and coatings, mechanical and boiler work. At peak the job will employ some 160 workers.
