Cosco Shipping committed to green technology

To further its commitment to emission reduction technology, the China-based company has also signed a low sulphur fuel oil (LSFO) supply agreement with Double Rich Limited.

According to the agreement, Double Rich limited will provide fuel oil with sulphur content not exceeding 0.5% m/m allowing Cosco Shipping Lines to conform to Annexe VI of the International Convention for the Prevention of Pollution from Ships (MARPOL) which has been adopted by the International Maritime Organisation.

Signing the LSFO supply agreement is part of Cosco Shipping Lines’ fulfilment of MARPOL and a sign of the company’s commitment to the research, development and application of ship desulphurisation technology.
