Woodside Energy’s 150,000 dwt FPSO

Cossack Pioneer

sailed on June 28 following a major upgrade at Dubai Drydocks.

The 140-day programme prepared by the yard involved over one million man-hours of yard labour. Although technically classed as an upgrade, the project turned out to be more extensive than the original conversion, with work growing by more than 50 per cent during the vessel’s stay. The sailing schedule was adhered to despite the increase.

The FPSO arrived in February with clearly defined objectives covering safety, quality, cost and time, and all were met in full, said the yard. “The strategy used to control and monitor this project has proved extremely effective,” said chief executive Keith Burgess. “We are certainly interested in further conversion work, and will be actively marketing this aspect of our capabilities in the future.”
