Covid-secure certification for POSH

The POSH Bawean is the first facility in South Asia to receive the certification, which assures stakeholders that a business has implemented health, safety and hygiene standards to restart safely amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

David Barrow, vice-president of South Asia and Pacific for Bureau Veritas Marine & Offshore, said that safety was an ‘absolute’ at BV. “Ensuring the safety and health of seafarers and offshore workers is critical to help ensure we keep our industry moving,” he said. “Compliance with the BV SafeGuard systems gives all of their stakeholders extremely high levels of confidence as we move forward in uncharted waters.”

POSH and BV focused on measures such as onboard processes and crew training, monitoring compliance, limiting contact and implementing cleaning procedures such as disinfection and changes to air conditioning systems.

Captain Priyadarshan Pandey, general manager of operations at POSH said the company was proud to receive the SafeGuard certification. “POSH has always put health and safety as our top priority and has actively enhanced our hygiene and cleanliness protocols both onshore and at sea,” he said.
