CSSC building huge repair facility

CSSC held a ceremony in Guangzhou Longxue Island for the start of construction of the largest ship repair yard in southern China. Ship repair business is one of the primary sectors in Longxue shipbuilding base and the company is planning to invest over $100 million in the first construction stage to build two large dry docks (a 300, 000dwt and a 200, 000dwt size), a 1.5km long ship repair wharf, as well as all other accessory facilities. The item will be managed by a joint venture established by CSSC Guangzhou Shipbuilding Industry, Guangzhou Wenchong Shipyard and Hong Kong Ocean Line Holdings.

Presently, Guangzhou Wenchong Shipyard?s annual ship repair capacity is 120 ships under 200,000dwt and annual production value is $75 million. Once the new dry docks are completed, its estimated annual production value will reach $190 million.
