CSSC split formalised

All the shipyards to the north of Huaihe River, including Dalian Shipyard, Dalian New Shipyard and Xin Gang Shipyard, will now belong to China Shipbuilding Heavy Industries Group. Mr Pingtao Huang, a former vice president of CSSC, has been named as president of the group.

Shipyards south of the Huaihe River, such as the Jiangnan and Hudong Shipyard Groups and Guangzhou Shipyard International will now form the China Shipbuilding Industries Group. Mr Xiaojin Chen, also a former vice president of CSSC, will be president of this southern group.

Both groups will still engage in both shipbuilding and repairing businesses.
